Rooms on the ground floor

The Front Room

Approx: 5 meters long x 5 meters wide

A versatile space, perfect for various activities and gatherings. With its south-facing windows providing ample natural light and a view of The Courtyard, it offers a welcoming atmosphere. The flexibility of the six large, lightweight tables allows for easy reconfiguration, catering to both meetings and physical activities like yoga, making it an accommodating venue for diverse needs.

(10 -14 people can sit comfortably at the table when in a boardroom configuration).

Hire charge: £9.50 p/h for community groups and small businesses. £11.50 p/h for corporate organisations and private hire.

The Back Room

Approx: 7 meters long x 4 meters wide – with alcove: 3m x 1.8m

The Back Room, with its easy-access and reliance on artificial lighting, offers a private, versatile space for meetings and workshops, seating up to 10 people in a boardroom arrangement.

There are 8 square tables, making the room less suitable for physical activities, as they can’t be folded away, but can be moved to the edges of the room. There are ample electricity points for classes such as IT or machine sewing.

The room serves as the vibrant hub for The Sherwood Exchange. This community-centric charity transforms the room into a bustling marketplace every Saturday afternoon, where locals can freely exchange or acquire various items, including food, clothes, household goods and toiletries, fostering a spirit of sharing and connection within the community.

Rooms on the first floor

The Main Hall

Approx: 8 meters long x 7 meters wide

Plus, Kitchen and additional seating aera: Approx 4 meters x 7 meters

With its delightful vaulted wooden ceiling, The Main Room is our largest room with floor-to-ceiling south-facing windows overlooking the courtyard. A kitchen area in a generous-sized alcove with separate informal seating area is an asset for a party event.

The room is well-equipped with eight large rectangular tables that can be stacked, making it versatile for various events and activities. Accompanying the tables are 20 plastic chairs, ensuring ample seating for attendees. Additionally, the kitchen area offers eight cushioned chairs, perfect for more relaxed gatherings. The flexibility to add more tables and chairs as needed allows for easy customization of the space to suit different occasions. Whether for meetings, workshops, or social events, the room can be tailored to meet the requirements of any function.

For Yoga or Pilates classes, you can comfortably accommodate 10-12 clients, with ample space between mats. If required, increasing the capacity to 14-15 clients is possible, though it will reduce the space between mats.

The Art Room

Approx: 7 meters long x 5 meters wide

This is a lovely, light, airy room, ideal for a variety of community events and activities. Its large north-facing windows provide ample natural light, making it perfect for art classes or group meetings.

The flexibility to rearrange the furniture, including the nine, large, lightweight foldable tables and 20 chairs, allows for easy customization of the space, whether for yoga classes or larger gatherings. The ability to add more tables and chairs from other rooms ensures that the room can adapt to the specific needs of each event, providing a versatile space for the community.

For Yoga or Pilates classes, you can comfortably accommodate 6 clients, with ample space between mats. If required, increasing the capacity to 8 clients is possible, though it will reduce the space between mats.

Hire charge £13.00 p/h for community groups and small businesses. £15.50 p/h for corporate organisations and private hire.
