Sherwood Exchange

Already, since its opening, the exchange is revisited every week by repeat visitors ranging from local residents to young parents with children to people aged over sixty, many informing us that they have been hit adversely by the rising costs of living. As our volunteers are trained to support visitors, we are finding that to many, we are becoming a place where a friendly chat and face can make all the difference to time otherwise spent experiencing social isolation. To some, too, we are a place where childrens toys can be found in abundance whilst otherwise not being able to be afforded. Everyone who visits us is visiting to do their bit to recycle and share what they have got, and being able to come in and share something and take something out of the exchange for free is helping so many people in our community and indeed across Nottingham to experience a more comfortable standard of living.
