A new course for anyone wanting tuition or just some guidance with their work. Designed to enable you to develop powers of observation, drawing, painting, ideas, appreciation of other artists' work, learn from each other, and have fun.

Tutor and artist Rosemary Wels DIP AD ATD, a lecturer for 27 years at NCN, has taught drawing, painting, printmaking, computer graphics, and art history.

Hands on Pottery

Learn to handle clay, design and make your own ceramics using hand building techniques, glazing processes, pottery tools and the potters' wheel.
Sessions available for School classes (AIM Awards), groups, team building workshops, parties for children or adults.

Arts Award supports young people to develop as artists. Children can achieve an Arts Award by exploring a range of different materials and techniques, finding out about different artists and different cultural art, and sharing experiences with others. The Award will usually take 20/25 hours to complete, which means the art group will run throughout the school year. However, the Award is not compulsory, during these sessions the children will build their creative and imaginative skills as well as their technical ability.

Classes at The Place, Sherwood and other locations around Nottingham
Create a variety of useful and decorative objects for the home and garden from willow, ash whips (and other tree 'whips'), brambles, wild rose and materials from the hedgerow. Weaving techniques will enable you to make Celtic Frame Baskets, Garden Obelisks, Hurdles, Chickens and Bird Feeders, Hearts, Flowers and Dragonflies .and creations of your own design.
